BlackBerry® uses the industry leading triple DES security, so you can rest assured that all information transmitted via the BlackBerry® solution is fully secure. 
Via a strong encryption scheme, BlackBerry® safeguards the confidentiality, integrity and authenticity of your information by keeping data encrypted while in transit between your device and BES server. Private encryption keys are created and stored on your secure Microsoft® Exchange, IBM® Lotus® Domino® or Novell® GroupWise® mailbox and on your BlackBerry® device.  Data sent to the device is encrypted by the BES server using the private key retrieved from your mailbox and is then transmitted securely across the network.  The key stored in the BlackBerry® then decrypts the data.Digital Certificates which are automatically sent to the BlackBerry® from the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server protect your information from being stolen from your device.  For example, if your phone was to get lost or stolen it will not be possible to download your information onto another computer, even if the password has been cracked.
